Multiple wins at RTS Awards, including Best Postgraduate Cinematography

Updated: Aug 30, 2022

'Life On The Rocks' picked up three nominations and two prizes at this year's Royal Television Society Awards. Breen Turner won the 'Best Postgraduate Sound' award and George 'Best Postgraduate Camerawork'. The film was also nominated in the Postgraduate Natural History category, but lost out to Madelaine Westwood's 'Secrets of the Salamander'.

"A triumph"

The film was up against fierce competition from NFTS graduate students Graham Boonzaaier and Pep Bosch i Calvo for their fabulous work respectively on Astrid Thorvaldsen's 'Who Goes There?' and Misha Vertkin's 'City of Lost Children.

"The Jury loved the style of camerawork which significantly contributed to the success of the film. The filming on the boats, the sense of loneliness (which the operator also felt themselves in the situation) and the bleak environment were captured wonderfully and contrasted superbly with the interviews. A triumph." The complete list of this year's RTS award winners can be seen HERE
